A Brief Introduction To The Z-Boyz - Past Heroes/Future Icons

The Zephyr skate team also known as the Z-Boyz are a famous group of skaters who poinered skateboarding in the 70's in California,Venice Beach and essentially creating the punk/skater subculture that now exists today.

Jeff Ho, Skip Engblom and Craig Stecyk where the founders of the Z-Boyz they opended a surf shop/skate shop and hired some of the local boys who also hanged out in the shop. the boys later went on to join the skate team and become world renowned.

The Zephyr Team (or Z-Boys)
The Zephyr team had 12 members:

Shogo Kubo
Bob Biniak
Nathan Pratt
Stacey Peralta
Jim Muir
Allen Sarlo
Chris Cahill
Tony Alva
Paul Constantineau
Jay Adams
Peggy Oki
Wentzle Ruml

The skateboarding of the Zephyr team was unique and powerful. At the same time that they were sidewalk surfing, skateboarding was growing in popularity in other areas of the US. For the rest of the country, skateboarding was slalom (riding down a hill back and forth between cones) and freestyle. Freestyle skateboarding is mostly dead today, but back then it was a huge part of the sport. Imagine ballet on a skateboard, or mixing ice skating with skateboarding. Freestyle was supposed to be graceful and artistic

The Z-BOYS trespassed into backyards to ride empty pools and partied with rock stars. They pushed limits and invented new moves every day. Prominent among them was local photo journalist Craig Stecyk, who wrote and photographed a series of innovative articles for Skateboarder Magazine that became known as the Dogtown articles which immortalized the Z-BOY lifestyle. The body of photography by Craig Stecyk is still frequently referenced.

The Zephyr Skate Team's impact on skateboarding was The aerial and sliding skate moves which were the basis for the aerial skateboarding and surfing still popular today. Considered the most influential skateboard team in history, the Z-BOY movement continues to this day as an expression of performance, innovation and style.

Nox - Raw Talent!

Nox Is A Deminican Republican Rapper hailing from North Philadelphia,PA.

Nox is signed to Atlantic Records through super producer Scott Storch but as scott is broke at the moment i think he now is just signed to Atlantic with out Scotty. He is very good at making songs he often sings the chorus (which is quite rare these days). He has his own group called 'The Ghostwritaz' made up of local legend Rockie Rayers and North Philly Hustler Myke Storm.

He more recently has been making mixtapes with DJ Popi AKA Mr H.T.F.U who is a local mixtape DJ on the rise (check out the mixtape '7oz of Codine'). Go to: WWW.CREWHTFUMIXTAPES.BLOGSPOT.COM for his latest mixtapes that you can get For FREE!

(check out the track 21 'Got To Stay Alive' Probably one of nox's best songs i wish they made a video for it)

What I like about him is he actually knows how to make songs. Alot of rapper have either good lyrics and cant make songs (e.g Papoose,Cory Gunz etc etc) or have no lyrics and cant make songs either (Shawty Lo,D4L,ying and yang twins,Uncle Murder etc etc)

Nox has a style that works and can make catchy hooks and not be too lyrical that its not acatully an enjoyable song but he isn not to less lyrical either.Nox has worked with the likes of Dr Dre,New Jerzey Devil,Missy Eliot,Ne yo,Xzibit,Timati (a russian rapper) and Tyrese and is quite versatile in what he can do.

He has also worked with State Property memeber and Ex Roc A Fella Records Artists Peedi Crakk they have also realsed and mixtape togther called 'Spazzmatic'

However Atlantic Records apears to be slow in knowing what they have actually got on there label and have not realesed an album by him yet, well this is the same label that let go of T.I only to sihgne him again a year later so they have a history of ignoring good artists (at 1st atleast) so he is releasing an album independtly called 'Latin Trappin' called that as he is Latin and raps both in english and spanish.

Scott Storch And Nox

Nox already has a long list of good songs released...

Nox - Mr Yayo (song that made me really get into Nox's music and start searching for other stuff by him)

Flo Dot Ft Nox - If You Know Me (its more of a nox song than a Flo Dot Song I think)

Nox -Put It In The Air

Nox - Cop My Shit

Nox - Sippin Codine

I see Great Things Happening For this Artist.DONT MISS OUT!!!
